Finding a job in Taiwan
Hi, my name is Muzi. I’d like to ask about the possibility’s of finding a career based job in Taiwan as a foreigner.
I’ve been actively searching even before i graduated (in 2022), and even went in harder after graduating. I’ve attended multiple job events both from 104 and Cake, but I never get an interview. When I apply on LinkdIn, if I do get a reply which is 0.01% of the time they have concerns with me not having work experience, which is impossible to have if not getting employed. 首先，台灣企業對於雇用外國人最在意的其中一點，就是中文能力。不論你是來自哪個國家，語言都是你是否能真正融入團隊、執行任務的重要門檻。我本身是馬來西亞華人，中英文都是母語，外表也完全不像外國人，但在求職的時候，依然常常遇到企業對雇用外國人的疑慮。這說明了，即使我們已經有語言與文化優勢，還是需要用更多的努力來證明自己的「準備好了」。
如果你現在還有一些時間、還有餘力，我會強烈建議你，在長期職涯發展上，一定要破釜沉舟地去強化你的中文能力。這會是你在台灣站穩腳步、打開更多職涯選項的關鍵。
那眼下該怎麼辦呢？你很急著想找工作，我完全理解。在這個階段，我建議你：
✅ 一、中文履歷與自傳，一定要準備
不管你的中文能力如何，都務必在履歷上註明你會中文，哪怕是初級也好。
想辦法準備一份完整的中文履歷與中文自傳。可以請朋友幫忙翻譯、也可以用 ChatGPT 幫你潤飾。讓雇主看見你「願意努力融入」，這點非常重要。
自傳中要交代清楚你的背景、學歷、為何來台、未來的規劃與職涯方向。雇主不只是在看履歷，更想知道你這個人是否真的打算留在台灣發展。
✅ 二、請先設定一個明確的職涯目標
不論是 PM、行銷、工程師、資料分析師等等，你必須先選定一個主攻方向。
對於外國人來說，試錯的空間很小，轉職成本很高。如果你自己都還在猶豫不決，企業很難相信你可以穩定地在他們公司成長。
即使未來會轉向別的職位，也請先對自己設定一個「起點」方向，把簡歷和自傳針對那個職位來寫，這樣雇主才看得出你是「準備好的人選」。
✅ 三、先留下來也沒關係，entry-level 也是起點
如果你還無法立刻進入理想的職位，也許可以先找一份 entry-level 的工作，重點是先能在台灣留下來，再逐步規劃未來的發展。
在台灣，職涯發展往往是靠「一步一腳印」和「人脈」。先留下來、努力提升自己，再慢慢往更理想的位置前進，是很多外國人在台灣走過的路。
你已經走得很努力了，真的值得肯定。

除非是頂尖技能或母語優勢明顯，否則企業多數優先錄用本地人。
3. 無經驗是藉口，非理由
台灣企業常以「沒經驗」為推託之詞，本質上是風險考量與語言文化適應疑慮。尚有簽證居留問題。
4. Linkedin 在台灣效用有限
LinkedIn 在台灣企業內部仍非主流徵才工具，成效自然偏低。
5. 中文能力是關鍵門檻
若中文不流利，許多職位將自動排除你，特別是中小企業。
6. 選錯主題也影響求職
「中美貿易戰」這種政策研究性題目，對企業實務助益有限。
7. 求職策略應轉向利基產業
試著針對跨境電商、貿易分析、國際數據研究等方向布局。
8. 投履歷不是丟魚餌
應根據職缺客製履歷與自我介紹，展現你能解決的具體問題。
9. 面試機會靠主動創造
找學長姐、老師、活動講者主動建立人脈，比投履歷有效。
10. 可考慮先接案或兼職
即使非正式工作，只要能轉化為實績或作品集，就是經驗。
11. 若無法突破，不妨轉戰他國
若長期卡關，建議轉往人才政策更友善的國家如新加坡。

I understand your frustration.
From your statement, there are many misunderstanding about job search.
1) Job affair doesn't get you an interview
The hiring manager are usually very busy, cannot/will not stand in booth to accept resume. That's not the best use of their time.
Please 100% apply a job through job searching website. 104.com has highest market share in TW, and 104.com has a foreigner section.

Linkedin is a good platform, but in TW, it's more for senior head hunting. Most of Taiwanese company don't even use Linkedin for talent hunting.
2) Focus on SinoTrade war brtween China and US doesn't get you a job~
For a company, we won't have a role or job function focusing only on trade war, since it is a one time event.
Company's job is focusing on "HOW to Deal with / React to Trade War". This usually fall to below couple team/function
Supply Chain & Operation -- coordinate and lead the company reaction plan.
Trade & Custom, and Legal team -- what is the latest policy? what does this policy means to the company?
You need a story on "WHAT can I bring to the company?!" .
DO not emphasis on "I don't have experience" and "I am a foreigner, I need a job"
A better way to describe your experience can be
My expertise is on Supply Chain system, such as Orcale, SAP and/or Digiwin system, in xxx, ooo and yyy module. I did a project study on the ERP transformation impact about Trade War, which I did xyz, with OOXX result.
I had advanced knowledge in Supply Chain and Manufacture area, which I got A+ score in OOO course, with year end study report was SinoTrade war between China and US. I am familiar with the___, and looking for ___ opportunity.
