Career change ideas?
I am an ICU Nurse from London (United Kingdom). I would like to stop working as a nurse and change to a less stressful career that is remote/hybrid. I am currently learning Mandarin but I believe it will be easier/faster to learn it whilst in Taiwan. I am unsure of what realistic career options I have outside of being an English teacher in Taiwan. I was looking into transitioning into the medical technology sector or clinical research. I believe that I have many transferrable skills as an ICU nurse so I am open to suggestions!
My idea is that since you have ICU Nurse from UK.
You can google :Occupational Health Specialist in technology industry.
The technology industry can speak English and Mandarin.

MOXA, Super Micro Computer, Inc, NVDIA.

Hi, career change at your age would be acceptable. Before I turned into 30, I actually had a career change from HR to Product Manager. To be honest, it was not easy in the beginning, especially there were a lot of new things to learn. Also, I had to adpot to the Taiwanese company culture (my Mandarin is good enough, but still I am not a local). I actually used nearly 1.5 years to study the industry practice and realize that this was not my ultimate career goal. Therefore, I switched back to my HR career. It's never too late to explore a new career, I am glad that I had a chance to explore.
Medical industry would be quite suitable for you, particularly you have some experience already. My recommendations would be:
Study Mandarin, there are lot of resources online or in Taiwan, try every means to practice it, Business level would be great!
For medical technology, try to learn some data analytical skills or tools, like Python, SQL, Tableau or Power BI. These can build your foundation in the medical industry.
Stay postiive, finding a job is not easy, but maintain a positive mindset can help you standout during the interview.
That's all. I wish you all the best!
