Academic Research and Teaching
I have a good experience of product development and various type of product use for commercial and industry. Most of the product are Biometric authentication system, LED LIGHTING, Software with database management. After Having all this experience and knowledge, can i start a fresh career in academic research and teaching. I like teaching as I love to share knowledge. The practical knowledge , having with me have to be shared to future mankind so that it can be used for further development. I have been looking to design a product based on image processing , related to medical science. I want to developed an medical imaging equipment that can scan and immediately share the reports of any potential disease or disorder. Shifting career from industry to academic is very difficult as many university or college prefer prior experience to teaching. How can I get my dream true?

One way to make your dream come true is to become a company’s internal lecturer, but for sure , you have to be their employee, also because some big companies have the promotion rule to pass certain professional classes, therefore, they need many internal lecturers.

After reading your descriptions, I suggest you to establish your own podcast ,youtube or online class series instead of look for a job. You can google those key words I mentioned yourself and pick the appropriate one to start you own business.

As far as I know, universities in Taiwan don’t have pure research positions and the first-tier universities don’t usually hire “old” faculty members without academic experience. Your best shot would be private universities or colleges.
A contracted lecturer would be a good place to start. In most cases, you might need to have a Ph.D. degree or register as a Ph.D. student to apply for a contracted lecture. If you have neither, you can try to apply for the Ph.D. program in industrial engineering at National Tsing Hua University or National Taiwan University. The former has a post-secondary program that might offer more opportunities for TAs/lecturers.
Many professors in industrial engineering have extended their research areas from traditional operation research and statistics to game theory and machine learning. With your experience in image processing, you might have a good chance of acceptance.
