Looking for Job

Hi everyone,
I hold a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from NTUST and a Bachelor’s in Biotechnology, with research experience in drug delivery systems and molecular diagnostics. I’ve also worked in both biotech industry and molecular labs.

I’ve been actively interviewing in Taiwan over the past few months but haven’t secured a full-time role yet. I am worried about that. With my academic background, hands-on experience, and English proficiency, I’m eager to contribute and grow.

If you know of any relevant opportunities or can offer guidance, I’d be truly grateful.
Thank you!

Hi there,

Thank you for sharing your background, and it's clear you’ve built a solid foundation with both academic and industry experience in the biomedical field.

Here are a few suggestions that might help you move forward more strategically:

1. Refine your positioning
Your background is strong, but hiring managers need to see quickly how you fit their current needs. Try tailoring your resume and LinkedIn profile toward a clear niche. For example:

molecular diagnostics R\&D associate
medical device regulatory affairs
preclinical or clinical research support
tech transfer in academic-industry collaborations

Clarify:
What kind of roles are you most passionate about?
Which industries (biotech startup, hospital labs, pharma MNCs) resonate with your values and career vision?

2. Strengthen your outreach
You’re already reaching out and great start. Now take it a step further:

Join biomedical-related LinkedIn groups (like biotech Taiwan or medical device professionals)
Reach out to NTUST alumni in similar fields and many are happy to give advice or referrals if approached sincerely
Set a weekly goal: 3 to 5 informational interviews with people in companies or roles you're targeting

3. Broaden and localize the search
If you're focused only on Taiwan but open to remote or hybrid roles, consider:

multinational companies with Taiwan branches
university-affiliated labs or spin-off startups
medical technology startups, which often value cross-functional skill sets like yours

If you'd like, feel free to message me your resume or LinkedIn profile. Happy to offer feedback or suggest connections.

You’re clearly motivated and capable. Sometimes it's just a matter of the right fit at the right time. Keep showing up.

Wishing you all the best!

Hello,
I can sense the anxiety and anticipation in your message about finding a job. With a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Biotechnology, coupled with research experience in drug delivery systems and molecular diagnostics, you already have a very solid foundation. Additionally, your work experience in the biotech industry and molecular labs, along with your strong English proficiency, are significant strengths.

In Taiwan’s biotech R&D field, opportunities do exist, but they sometimes require more patience and strategy. I recommend focusing on professional career platforms such as 104 Job Bank or LinkedIn, where job openings in biotech R&D are often posted. At the same time, consider proactively reaching out to the HR departments of biotech companies to express your interest and capabilities. This might help you access some unadvertised opportunities.

I understand that the waiting and uncertainty during the job search can be stressful, but please don’t worry too much. Your background and skills are already impressive; you just need to find the right platform to showcase them. During interviews, I suggest highlighting your research achievements and practical experience while demonstrating knowledge of the company’s products or technologies. This can show the interviewer your enthusiasm and preparation.

The above response was crafted with the assistance of generative AI for gathering information, and I have adjusted it based on my personal experience and perspectives. Wishing you the best in finding your desired position soon!
